Bucheon FC to extend 1-year contract with multiplayer defender Nilsson Jr

Bucheon FC announced on Monday that it has agreed to extend its one-year contract with Nilsson Junior. As a result, Nilsson Junior will wear the uniform of Bucheon until the 2024 season.
Nilsson Junior, who debuted in the K-League in 2014, is a 10-year-old foreign defender. After joining Bucheon for the first time in 2017, he played as the main defender in Bucheon until the 2019 season. After that, he moved to Anyang and returned to Bucheon ahead of the 2022 season.
Through this contract, Nilsson Junior will continue to accompany Bucheon for six seasons. This contract confirms solid solidarity and trust between Bucheon and Nilsson Junior.
Through the 2023 season, he has played in 175 games for Bucheon, scoring 27 points and seven assists, the highest number of games played by the club. He also showed outstanding performances this season, as he was selected nine times among the best 11 players in each round (joint second in the league). He played his role perfectly in both offense and defense while playing 37 games (joint third in the league). In particular, he has clearly proved his value in Bucheon, renewing his record of scoring the most points (27 points) in his team.
Coach Lee Young-min explained about Nilsson Junior, "He played a pivotal role in the team in Bucheon every season, and he showed leadership to build a stable defensive line while leading young players well." He then expressed his expectations for Nilsson, saying, "I think these experiences in the K-League will help Bucheon a lot next season."
